Today, when consciousness is becoming the new luxury, fashion must speak sincerely. ETNA responds with a passion for quality: we select fabrics that feel great on the skin, breathe the history of craftsmanship, and reflect respect for the world we live in. The ETNA brand encompasses three key principles, which serve as our internal guidelines and form the DNA of every future product - the fundamental concepts to which we dedicate our craft:
- Human - Our garments are designed for true comfort, created with consideration for the human body and its needs throughout a full day of wear. This principle also reflects our respect and care for every person involved in the creation of ETNA apparel.
- Nature - We use premium organic fabrics, adhering to principles of sustainability and conscious sourcing.
- Value - We prioritize lasting quality, genuine worth.
When selecting fabrics, we focus specifically on the High-End price category, choosing fibers primarily from the Regenerated Cellulosic and Natural groups. Additionally, we place increasing emphasis on Full-Compliance Manufacturing (Meeting the highest standards of ethical labor practices, environmental responsibility, and verified production safety). This focused approach reflects our dedication to Real Value - garments that maintain their quality, comfort, and performance over time, rather than offering only short-term appeal.
Broadway Suits Wool Fabric
When we started production of the Broadway suits: pants, waistcoats and blazers for ETNA, we picked premium wool fabrics from the High-end category. Our wool supplier is a well-known, respected mill with a solid reputation. We visited their facilities ourselves, got all the necessary certifications, and made sure the workers have comfortable conditions on the factory floor.
According to our vision, the fabric must be breathable and predominantly composed of natural fibers. We selected the most refined fabrics, with valuable characteristics that made the Broadway suits luxurious and long-lasting - truly worthy of the preferences and taste of the clients for whom we create. Broadway suits fabric composition: 86% virgin wool, 10% polyamide, 4% elastane.
Worsted spun yarn is used for the base of the fabric material - a finely combed wool fiber that produces smooth, long, and exceptionally strong threads. It is applied for tailoring high-quality suits: the yarns are even, dense, and free of excess fuzz, which gives the fabric its smooth surface and resistance to pilling. Suits made from this type of wool are luxurious and reliably durable in wear. The high content of ultra-fine virgin wool fibers in the fabric gives it a refined appearance, excellent thermal insulation, and exceptional comfort.
Supporting fiber
To reinforce the wool yarn, increase its strength and abrasion resistance, and stabilize the garment’s shape during regular wear, it is necessary to add a supporting fiber. We chose polyamide because it is the ideal additive for premium suiting, significantly improving the fabric’s performance without cheapening its refined appearance. The addition of polyamide increases the suit’s lifespan (the period of effective wear) by 1.5 to 2 times compared to 100% wool.
It holds shape exceptionally well and provides a “memory” effect, where the fabric returns to its original shape after being stretched. As a result, the elbows and knees of the suit do not become loose or baggy. Polyamide does not pill and dramatically increases resistance to abrasion. It also breathes well and is lightweight - it does not weigh down the wool fabric, allowing the garment to maintain excellent drape without sagging. Polyamide does not absorb moisture the way wool does, and it absorbs odors to a much lesser degree.
Polyamide fibers are significantly more expensive than polyester, which is often used as a secondary fiber in wool blends, but polyester does not possess any of the mentioned advantages of polyamide. It pills, gives suits a more budget-looking sheen, and does not return to its original shape after stretching because its structure is rigid. It hardly breathes and makes the skin feel warm and clammy. 4% elastane provides the fabric with additional resilience and elasticity.

Gabardine Weave
The gabardine weave enhances the valuable characteristics of the fabric’s fibers. The yarn is tightly twisted along its axis, like a resilient spiral. Thanks to this specific construction, the weave creates micro-channels through which air circulates. This structure ensures long-lasting shape retention, increased durability, and the characteristic density of the fabric.
In the Broadway suit collection fabric’s laboratory test report, conducted according to international ISO (International Organization for Standardization) standards, we received additional confirmation of its value. It demonstrates not simply high, but exceptional performance characteristics:
Tensile & Breaking Strength - The fabric is capable of withstanding substantial loads without damage, and its elasticity along both the straight and diagonal grain provides reliability and durability even under significant tension. In addition, under the characteristic “the fabric’s tendency to gap or open along a stitched seam under stress,” the material shows excellent resistance — it does not split at the seams under strain, preserving the garment’s structural integrity.
Seam Slippage - The fabric holds exceptional resistance: even under high stress, the seams remain secure, and the garment maintains full structural integrity.
Pilling Resistance - There is outstanding resistance to pilling, with no fuzzing or pill formation even after intensive abrasion. The surface stays smooth and fresh-looking, allowing garments to preserve their premium appearance throughout wear.
Abrasion Resistance - The level of durability is significantly higher than average. The fabric endures constant friction, from seat belts to seating surfaces and armrests, allowing garments to serve longer while retaining both structure and shape.
Color Fastness - Color stability is at the highest level. Exposure to water, rubbing, perspiration, or dry cleaning does not lead to fading or dullness.
Safety of Dyes - The fabric’s pH remains within the ideal range. The dyes are stabilized and free of aggressive residues, ensuring the material is safe for the skin, non-irritating, and suitable for prolonged contact, providing lasting comfort in wear.
In this article, we wanted to delve into the details of the Broadway Collection suit production, focusing on one of the most important components of premium wear - the fabric and its qualities. From the first fiber to the last stitch, ETNA adheres to the values of respect and integrity. We create products that care for the body, honor the work of artisans, remain in harmony with nature, and embody real value. Each piece is a commitment to quality, imbued with beauty and respect.
